Every beginning is difficult...

3 mei 2018 - Tanumshede, Zweden

The first few days came with a couple of ‘obstacles’ to overcome. We left the first of May 11 o’clock in the morning and drove to Rölanda/Ed in Väster Götaland. Elisabet and Anders were so kind to invite us to their ’nöt och get-gård’ (cows and goats-farm) to stay a couple of nights. Because of the heavy rain the day before everything was wet and muddy. And soon we found out that we should have brought our rain boots! The kids thought the creek behind the caravan was very cool and decided to (accidentally) sit in it. Despite the mud the spot was beautiful with cranes and deeres as our neighbors. We spent two days in the mud and visited the aqueduct of ‘Håverud’, watched the goats being milked, walked between the ‘rock art’ of Tisselskogen and had a very nice late night ‘fika’ and chat with Anders and Elisabet. Unfortunately did we loose our license plate somewhere along the way and couldn’t find it back so had to call the police and get a temporary plate. Thank god we are allowed to drive to Norway with it too! Last night Gwyn woke up and puked all over the bed. Where’s the washing machine when you need it?!? Today we dragged the caravan out of the mud, gave it a wash at Anders’ and Elizabets farm and headed to Inez who lives in Tanumshede. We could park the caravan on her property and she even washed Gwyn’s dirty sheets and clothes! Now we are going to try to get some sleep. Tomorrow the weather should be a little better and we are planning a trip by bike to the rock carvings in Tanum, part of the UNESCO world heritage. Good night! 🌙
